Ahh Thursday we meet again!
It is long weekend recap time.
This past weekend we headed up to
Door county.
AND
to say we loved it is an understatement!
WE LOVED IT x1000 millon!!
The food.
The drinks.
The shops.
The camping.
The water.
ALL OF IT.
We loved it and we cannot wait to go back!
Few things....
Door county does not have your average summer weather.
I carried a sweater or had one on almost everywhere we went.
Cherries.
All the cherries.
They are known for cherry EVERYTHING!
Door County is a series of little towns a long the water.
We visited quite a few.
If we were to do this again we would go for about 4-5 days instead of two.
Here we go!
The first stop on our road trip took us here....
Now if you are a Netflix fan like we are,
you have probably heard of the documentary series
Making a Murder.
SO you probably have heard of this place.
We stopped by for quick pics obviously since we were fans of the series.
When we arrived in Fish Creek we ate lunch at
the
Fish Creek Market.
A little deli/grocery store that sold fresh made sandwiches.
They did not disappoint and were a great way to start our adventure!
We sat in the little park across the street and ate our sammies.
Then we headed to our campsite to set up for the weekend!
We stayed at Peninsula State Park.
The views were amazing.
5 campgrounds in the whole area!
Lots of trails, a beach and a boat launch.
Dressed and ready to go we headed to dinner at
RIGHT on the water!
Beautiful views.
We had heard a lot of people gather here for the sunset and they were not wrong!
We enjoyed ourselves and stayed for the sunset.
After the sunset we headed back to camp and Pat built a great fire!
In the morning we drove to town and had breakfast at Julie's.
Yummy coffee and delicious food.
We drove back down to Egg Harbor
to walk around and take in the views.
We spent most of the morning there and it did not disappoint!
On our drive we spotted this little Polish Soup place so obviously we had to stop :)
AND
The soup did NOT disappoint!!
I had a potato soup and Pat and quote "the best chili I have ever eaten"
We walked around Fish Creek
and did some shopping
& stopped by a little olive oil shop with a wine bar!
Dinner that night was a fish boil at
A fish boil is kind of hard to describe to I will let the pictures tell it all :)
After a DELICIOUS and probably our favorite meal
we headed down to Sunset Park to
what else....
watch the sunset!
We played bags and finished our night at the
We sat by another fire and enjoyed our last night in Fish Creek!
In two days we covered SO MUCH but there is still so much more
to do and see in Door County.
We absolutely plan to go back in the future!
I highly recommend this area if you are in the Midwest or are looking for a
fun family adventure!
