Camping Weekend Recap

Hello Hello and HappyThursday!!
Say WHAT?!?

I can't believe it is almost the weekend again!
Having the holiday on Tuesday is really throwing me for a loop.

On Friday I mentioned we were headed out bright and early for our annual
4th of July camping trip.

All week we had been tracking the weather and we unsure of how it would turn out.
I am one that worries about everything so needless to say I was pretty
nervous driving all the way down to Shelbyville with rain
in the forecast.

The drive was super easy this year.
Pat and I both agreed that driving to and from was way easier than past trips!

We hit a little rain storm which lasted maybe 5 minutes on the way down.

We arrived set up camp and another 5 min rain storm rolled through.

BUT after that the SUN came out and it got HOT!!!

We loaded up the boat and headed to the water while we waited for friends to arrive
:)

The lake was cool but so refreshing!

We enjoyed our time on the water and then headed in.

Friends arrived and we had a much enjoyable Friday night!

Saturday we got up and headed to town for breakfast!

We ate the the CUTEST little diner in town.

All the locals eat there and we definitely stood out as visitors :)

Saturday was a long, enjoyable and hot day on the water!!

Sunday once again the weather was BEYOND perfect!

The rain that they projected continued to be pushed back and back later into the week
so this nervous worrier was worried no more!!

Relaxing, swimming and eating on the water all Sunday was the best.

I usually like to bring something fun to share with everyone, so
for dinner Sunday night I had pre-marinated some Flank Steaks
and when we got back Pat grilled them up on the fire.
They were JUST what we needed and to be honest probably one
of the BEST steaks I have ever had.
My mom's marinade is my go to and I will use it on every steak until I eat steak no more :)

Monday was a much needed easy boating day on the lake.

The LAST Orange Hi-C EVER at McDonalds :(

We enjoyed the sun, good drinks and great convos.

Tuesday we packed up and headed home.
We love going down to Lake Shelbyville and this trip was one for the books!
Lots of friends joined, the weather was amazing and lots of yummy food was consumed!

We were home and unpacked early enough to still enjoy our evening.

We ordered Lou's and relaxed until fireworks!

Itasca is known for their great fireworks display so we were PUMPED to see them!

We left about 745 for the 945 show.
I didn't realize how popular these were until we arrived.
SO MANY PEOPLE!!

By the time we parked and picked out our spot is was about 830.
We laid out our blanket, talked and relaxed until the show at 10!!
The night was perfect BUT
the fireworks show was UNREAL!!!

The fireworks were done to music and they were the BEST we had ever seen!

We had an amazing LONG weekend and were so blessed to spend time with great people in our lives.
Such fun memories were created and we cannot wait until we go again next :)

See you back here tomorrow for Friday Favorites!
