Friday Favorites- Celebrating Dad #mydadrocks

Happy Friday!!
Today's post is extra special because instead of multiple favorites, I am talking about one of the best favorites in my life:
My Dad.

As always I am linking up with MomfessionalsTabandErika and Grace&Love

Father's day is Sunday which means it is the perfect time to share a little bit about one of my favorite people :)

Peter

My dad is the oldest of five.

He was born in 1957.

My dad went to catholic school growing up.

He attended Homewood Flossmoor High School.

He then went on to study at Illinois State University.

My dad met my mom there and they both graduated in 1980.

One interesting fact about my dad is that once he graduated, my dad only worked for TWO companies his whole career.

He worked one job for a year out of college and then worked for Campbell's the rest of his working career.

My parents married in October of 1982.

In 1988 my dad and mom welcomed their first child, a boy.
Kevin.

In 1991 they welcomed their second child, a girl.
Emalie ( me)

In 1994, the third child came along, a boy.
Erich.

My dad is an extraordinary man. He is self-less, caring, loving, funny and the best friend anyone would want to have.

If you don't know my dad sit back and enjoy some of my favorite things about my father.
If you know him.... you are one lucky person :)

1. My dad was always the dad to sign up to coach or be the head chief in indian princesses.
He was very hands-on with us as kids.

2. My dad worked for the Campbell Soup Company for 33 years.
He retired in 2015.

3. We moved as kids a few times.
Kevin was born in Michigan, and we moved to Pennsylvania when Erich was a few months old.

4. My dad unfortunately lost his father in 2000.
He battled cancer and was taken from us too soon.

5. My dad LOVES The Beatles.

6. When we were kids my dad would play all different kinds of music in our house for us to run around to.
My love for music comes from my dad.

7. My dad used to tickle me until I couldn't breathe as a kid.
I am still scared of it today!

8. My dad will help ANY person ANY time of day.
His heart is BIG for helping others.

 9. Every Christmas since I can remember, my dad would take us to a local place that had the red salvation army bucket outside and he would have us bring all our left over change from the year and donate it.

10. My dad was stuck in Napa during 9/11 and at this point in time is when he learned to love and enjoy wine.

11. My dad works at Binny's during his retired time and is GOOD at it.
Kevin and I say he should open a little wine and dine place.

12. During Halloween as kids, he always put on Frankenstein mask and had us all dance to the monster mash.

13. My dad is patient.

14. My dad loves Stewie from Family Guy.

15. My dad recorded EVERY part of our lives growing up. From coming home from the hospital to first steps to soccer games. He has it ALL on tape.

16. My dad loves anything to do with History. Especially American History.

17. My dad is my all around go-to guy for anything.
He knows EVERYTHING.

18. My dad loves the phrase "I was right"
Because let's be honest....most of the time he is :)

19. When I was a kid my dad asked me how much I loved him, and I responded by saying:
"1 million hearts"
This stuck as our go-to phrase and I still tell him that.

20. My dad is an usher at church once a month.

21. My dad deep frys a turkey every Thanksgiving. It has become a Tradition!

22. My dad is Superman and was able to take my brothers & I to Super Bowl XLV and watch the Green Bay Packers win the Lombardi Trophy :)

23. My dad was in Cleveland this fall and got to witness the Cubs winning the World Series.

24. HE is MY Dad.

Happy Father's Day Dad!
I love you 1,000,000 <3's
