Culinary Fight Club

Today is going to be sunny and we are in NEED of major sun around here!

On Monday, we had the opportunity to head to the city for an amazing event!
My parents had been to a cook off before and once we all heard what it was all about we were IN!!!

We had a great crew to spend the night with.

Now a little about the event.

Culinary Fight Club put on an AMAZING event to benefit:

Fight2Feed.

Fight2Feed is a non-profit organization that partners with restaurants and food trucks to make sure men, woman and children are fed in communities.

As a FACS teacher, this filled my mind!
As a foodie, this event filled my tummy!
As a human, this event filled my heart!

There is so much food waste in homes, schools and restaurants.
AND
So many people go hungry and this organization makes sure to share food that has not been used to those who need it.

We all could do better at not over buying and using what we have.
It takes one to make the change. You and I can be two to help make the change.

Now......
ON TO THE FOOD!!!

The event had four teams compete against each other.

They had 2 hours to cook!

PIT MASTER COOK OFF!

Unreal.
Delicious.
Talented.
Tasty.
Awesome.

Just a few words used to describe the event :)

The all had their own meat or fish that they wanted to prepare but they had a middle table to choose all their other ingredients from.

They raced to gather what they needed then began their cooking!!

All of the competitors created AMAZING dishes!!
Some fish, some meat.
Some BOTH!!!

SO one of the coolest things ever about the event is that
Chicago Culinary Kitchen
just opened a new BBQ place in palatine
that I blogged about a few weeks back
and it was SO fun to cheer them on!
We were obviously their biggest fans :)
PTOWN!!

There was music and appetizers and good drinks throughout the entire evening.

Umm hello beautiful.
Cauliflower fried in BUFFALO!!
Bless.

They had a little gambling table where you could "gamble" during the event!

Chicago Culinary Kitchen.

They had their fish flown in from Texas that morning.

AMAZE.

Peter McCarthy.

Heavens. His dish was surf and turf.

Was this event created to just blow our minds?
YUPP!
