Tidy Up & Clean

Happy Thursday!

Today I am sharing an article from
Tidy London Cleaning.

I am all about the clean, tidy and neat.
When I have the time I love a good deep clean of my house.
I told myself this summer I would clean and organize everything
I didn't have time for during the year.
I was done the first week of summer :)
hahaha!

You can also check out my post about
I shared a BUNCH of tips on how I transition and
clean into spring!
Enjoy!

Keep your home tidy with these stylish home storage ideas

It’s a universal law, that the storage space in your home is just never enough. There is always a couple of books laying idly around or your kids’ toys piling at random spots in your hallway. The first thing that comes to mind, is cleaning the floors and using the drawers and cabinets you already have, but we have something even better than that. If your goal is to turn your home into its best version and enjoy clutter-free, clean and tidy rooms, the best thing you can do is making use of the dead spaces behind staircases, above wardrobes, behind doors and so much more.

Recessed kitchen pantry
If you’re like me, your kitchen can turn into a huge mess in under two minutes. Nobody knows how and why this happens, but post-breakfast chaos is as sure as the sun rises. Therefore, a storage space, which doesn’t take any actual space in the kitchen is perfect. What you need to do in order to regain control over the situation, is to create a niche in the wall and install shelves for storage. You can amp up the stylish factor, by putting sliding doors of opaque glass – this will provide an easy access while still keeping your belongings private. Their cleaning is quite easy as well.

Use the empty vertical surface of your kitchen island and install multiple hook sets for different purposes. That’s a perfect place to hang your pans, pots, spatulas and more. A couple of pretty baskets hooked there can become the new home of your condiments and herbs, providing a quick access when you’re cooking the next meal. You can even store there your hand mixer and any small light appliances you might have. A bonus benefit is that by seeing them, you’ll reach for them more often and use them on a daily basis.

Neat entrance hall
The first thing which your guests see when they cross the threshold of your home is the entrance hall. You want to make an amazing first impression, so why not make it as well-organized and functional as possible. The space beneath the staircase is often neglected, but it can make a great storage space, if you put it to good use. Equip it with a big pull-out drawer, or a couple of smaller ones, in which you can store off-season shoes, coats which don’t require hangers, and accessories. Say goodbye to constantly cleaning and tripping on shoes and slippers.

The other side of your door
We know this might look like a Dorm room organizing 101, but trust us, it will work pretty well in your adult life as well. Place a couple of over door hooks for your clothes and nail some smaller hooks to place your bags and backpacks, when you don’t use them. A good idea for storing accessories are wire baskets in different sizes, which can also be nailed, there. While you’re at it, why don’t you attach a small extendable mirror, so you can have a quick look at yourself before heading out.

Close to the ceiling
Regardless of which room we’re talking about, there is always a certain amount of space left between the tallest furniture piece and the ceiling. This is your que to begin planning what you’re going to put there. Above the wardrobe, the cupboards in your kitchen or your closet racks, you can put shelves and store your not-so-often-used belongings in pretty pull-out containers. VoilĂ ! A clean and tidy looking home.

I hope you found some new great organizing and home cleaning tips!
I know I sure did :)

See you back here tomorrow for LOTS of favorites!
